I'm a wife and mom of 2 young children. Canadian born and raised and do the odd bit of travel. Crafting has always been a hobby for me but in 2002 when I realized the potential of the internet, I began selling my custom rhinestone shirts online. Fashion trends were all about bling at that time and the response was immediate. I opened Sparkle-Me.net shortly after.
2. What is the first craft item you remember making?
As a young girl, I would take the fabric remnants from my grandmother's stash and I'd make little vests and skirts for my dolls & stuffed animals. No sewing machine involved... just cutting the fabric until I ended up with the right fit for my doll.
3. How long have you been making your shirts? And your other items?
I've been making the shirts for 5 years but have always crafted other items aswell. I have always been fond of unique pieces and am now introducing OOAK necklaces for the alternative crowds.
4. Which is your favorite and why?
I'd have to say that the Superman/Superwoman design is my favorite rhinestone shirt. Why? Well- Who doesn't love this Superhero? :)
Antique shopping! I would love to take a drive into the country where there are remote stores and just marvel at the history. I love picking up an item and think that someone used this in their daily life at one time.
6. What is your perfect crafting day like?
Calm and all supplies at hand. I feel a great accomplishment when I can just create in a relaxed atmosphere. It's almost like therapeutic to just sit at the work station and analyze how the design is going to look in the end.
7. What is your favorite thing about GWBG?
2 things- The friendships and the Creative avenues. We have a great group of gals who are very open with eachother so we bonded immediately. Each designer has something unique to offer to the entire shopping experience is almost endless.
Viva GWGB! :)
